However, because CBD, unlike THC, does not have an intoxicating effect, CBD products are not subject to the Narcotics Act. This is certainly one of the reasons for the boom these products have experienced. Since the cultivation of CBD hemp was legalized in Switzerland in 2016, demand has continued to grow.
