Although consumption has been illegal in Switzerland since the 1950s, it has remained more than just a marginal phenomenon in many places, not only among young people and in the music scene. Around the turn of the millennium, hemp experienced a renaissance as a useful plant. Whether as an ecological insulating material or a component of composite materials, the natural fiber was in demand again. And with the partial revision of the Narcotics Act in 2011, cannabis and THC became socially acceptable again as therapeutic agents in medicine. Palliative care and chronic pain and spasms are just a few current examples of conditions for which doctors are now allowed to prescribe THC.
